Al Qudra Desert
The soft, sand dunes of Al Qudra Desert offer a perfect, clean background for an emotive family or couple session in Dubai. I love them for the wide, open space, the relative privacy they offer and the opportunity for using the setting sun to create light infused images.
Photoshoots in the desert are usually an hour before sunset when the light is becoming softer. Sunrise timing is also an option, if you don’t mind a very early start of the day.
Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood
A family photoshoot in Al Fahidi, Dubai’s historical neighbourhood, often referred to as Old Dubai, is for those who love exploring and capturing memories in an atmospheric space. Al Seef
Al Seef is another beautiful option for a relaxed family or couple photoshoot in Old Dubai. Nestled along the Dubai Creek, it showcases traditional Emirati architecture with its stone walls, wooden details, and winding alleys. Think colourful doors, character-filled vendor stalls, and sunlit passageways, all offering a rich variety of backdrops.
What makes Al Seef extra special is its balance - the vibrancy of its markets and splashes of colour alongside quiet corners where we can pause and capture soulful family portraits. It’s a place steeped in heritage, where every wall and walkway seems to carry a story and can be the perfect setting for yours too. We can meet there early morning or later in the afternoon.
Mushrif Park
For those who have already experienced family photoshoots in Old Dubai or the desert, Mushrif Park offers a refreshing change of scenery with its unique desert-forest feel. This expansive park is filled with variety - from the soft tones of desert greenery and grass to more vibrant, tree-lined corners - giving us a mix of natural backdrops to use.
