The First Hours, Documented Beautifully

Fresh 48

Fresh 48 is a newborn session held right in your hospital room, within the first two days after birth. It’s a gentle, easy-to-schedule session that results in a gallery full of honest, heartfelt memories. I will be there to capture for you the raw moments when everything is still brand new - the way you cradle your baby, the smitten look on your partner’s face, and the heartwarming moment when siblings meet for the very first time.

There are so many “firsts” in those hours - first yawns, first snuggles, first wide-eyed gazes. Moments that can be easily forgotten if left undocumented.

You don’t need to do anything special for Fresh 48. Just hold your baby close, soak in those fresh newborn details and the quiet emotions of finally being together, and I’ll take care of the rest. I shoot these sessions with all my heart, because I know how quickly those early moments blur and how meaningful it is to have them to look back on. We'll document them beautifully for you and your baby.

Your Fresh 48 Session FAQs

Those first hours after your baby arrives are raw and so emotional. My Fresh 48 sessions are all about capturing the tiny details, the connection, and the love that’s settling in. Here are a few questions I’m often asked about how it all works.

When should I call you for the Fresh 48 photoshoot?

When you book your Fresh 48 session, we’ll stay in touch about your expected delivery date, and I’ll be on standby once things begin to unfold.

If you’re delivering at Mediclinic City Hospital or HMS Mirdif, I’m close by and can usually come on a short notice. For Parkview or King’s Hospital, I’ll need a little more heads-up. Ideally, send me a quick message (or have your partner do so) when you’re on the way to the hospital - that way, I can make sure I’m available within the next 48 hours.

How long does the shoot take?

These sessions are short and gentle, usually around 45 minutes. I know those early hours can be overwhelming, so I work quietly and efficiently to capture everything without adding pressure or disrupting your rhythm.

Do I need to prepare anything?

Not really! Fresh 48 sessions are all about authentic, documentary-style moments. No stiff posing, no props - just your family as you are when you are welcoming your newest member. That’s what makes them so special.

Can my extended family be present for the shoot?

I recommend keeping this session intimate - just you, your partner, your baby and the siblings. There will be plenty of time later to capture photos with grandparents and extended family. This one is about those first, quiet moments together.

How should I dress the baby?

For most of the session, your baby will be wrapped or swaddled to feel safe and comfortable. If you’d like, we can also capture a few unwrapped moments to show off the tiny fingers and toes. No fancy clothes or sets, please. There will be a time and place for those too, but for the hospital - keep it simple and comfortable for the baby.
