Only two days to our shoot
The time for our session is almost here—and I’m so looking forward to capturing this special chapter for you.
Below, I’ve pulled together a quick highlight reel of everything we’ve covered, just to make sure you feel calm, prepared, and excited heading into your shoot.
Take a few moments to revisit the steps, settle into the intention behind them, and know that I’ll be guiding you throughout.
About the session
“We don’t remember days, we remember moments.”
I can’t wait to have you step into the frame—with your baby, your story, and all the quiet beauty that comes with it.
Before the session
01. Colour and Comfort
Finalise the outfits for yourself, your husband, and the siblings (if any). Soft, neutral tones work beautifully and help keep the focus on connection. Avoid bold logos, busy patterns, or very bright colours. Comfort is key.
02. Simplicity
Pick a simple, plain onesie or bodysuit for the baby. White, cream, beige, light grey, olive green or any pastel, muted colour can work well. Make sure it fits nicely. Knit outfits are also great and usually create a very cosy feel. I’ll often start with baby in this and build from there.
03. Home
Take a look around your home and decide if there are any objects or clutter you’d like to move out of the spaces we’ll use (usually the master bedroom, nursery, and living room). No need to deep clean—just create a clear, lived-in backdrop.
04. Siblings
If you have older children, gently prepare them for the session. Let them know why I’m coming—that we’ll be creating some truly special photos as a family—and that they’ll have a really important role in it all.
Giving them a simple task, like counting baby’s toes, reading them a story, or holding the baby close, can help them feel involved and proud. And a little reward afterwards never hurts!
I know how meaningful sibling photos are—and I also know how big this moment can feel for little ones. Not every sibling arrives eager to perform, and that’s okay. With patience, playfulness, and a bit of space, we’ll find the moments that matter most.
On the day
01. Tiny prep, big difference
If possible, try to feed and change your baby just before I arrive, and dress them in their chosen outfit. A full tummy and a clean nappy make for a settled start.
02. Some extras
Keep swaddles or sentimental items you’d like to include close by—especially anything that holds meaning for your family. A few soft blankets or a quilt can also be helpful, especially if we need to create a cosy “bed” near the best light in your home.
These little extras often become the quiet heroes of a session—adding warmth, texture, and a personal touch to your story.
03. Top up
If you’re bottle feeding, please have a bottle ready just in case we need it during the session. We can also grab of few photos of dad feeding the baby which is really sweet.
Final notes
There’s no need to have your home perfect, your baby asleep on arrival and your toddler cooperating all the time.
We go with the flow and follow your baby’s lead. The most meaningful images don’t come from perfect poses or behaviour. They come from feeling: the way you hold your baby close, the way your eyes soften, the way love fills the space between you.
Let go of expectations. Be present. That’s all I need to capture something real.
See you soon!
