Everyday Moments and Deep New Love. Your Newborn Story Through My Lens

The newborn session takes place in the comfort of your home, ideally within the first two weeks after the baby arrives. It’ll be a slow-passed, cosy morning where you can cuddle in, breathe deep, and take in all that newborn sweetness. It’s relaxed, easy, and centred around your family’s natural rhythm. I’ll gently guide you when needed, but mostly, I’ll be there to quietly observe and document the love unfolding - those sleepy snuggles, soft kisses, and the quiet (or not so quiet) magic of this brand-new chapter of your life.

To prepare for the session, I will send you my detailed Newborn and Styling guides so you can step into the session with confidence and ease. Together, we’ll create images that’ll keep these first days memories for you and your baby - authentic, emotional, and forever treasured.

Your Newborn Session FAQs

I know planning a newborn session can feel like one more thing on a very full list, so I’ve gathered a few of the questions I’m asked most often. Think of this as a little peek behind the curtain, with honest, down-to-earth answers from someone who’s been there (many, many times).

When should I book my newborn session?

You can book your session as early as you like and as soon as the excitement hits! We won’t set an exact date right away, but both of us will know the session is coming, and we’ll stay in touch as your due date approaches.

It also gives us time to get to know each other a little before the shoot, so it doesn’t feel like a complete stranger is walking into your home. That part really matters. Just don’t wait until baby arrives. Those first few weeks are a whirlwind, and it’s easy to miss the ideal window or skip it altogether.

What time of the day is best for a newborn photo shoot?

I always recommend morning time for newborn shoots. Most homes have beautiful natural light then, and let’s be honest - it’s when everyone’s (hopefully!) the most rested and relaxed.

What should we wear for the newborn session?

I’ll send you a full guide with ideas and tips, but in short: Choose something comfortable in soft, neutral tones that feel like you. For baby, make sure clothes fit well - nothing too loose or bunched up, so they stay comfy and we can see their faces well.

How long does the session take?

Every newborn session is different because every baby (and family) is different. I follow the baby’s rhythm (feeding, soothing, or snuggling as needed), so it usually lasts between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours. I won’t ever push beyond that. My goal is always to keep things calm, gentle, and enjoyable for everyone.

Can siblings join the session?

Absolutely! These sessions are about your family with a little extra love on the newest member. I always include parents and siblings because those connections are what make the images truly meaningful.
